On July 7th, YouTuber Terivent uploaded a video to their channel (seen below) where they engaged in a discussion with one of the users on Discord, receiving nearly 200,000 views, 9,100 likes and 2,700 comments. The profile pic actually belongs to someone (I forget at the moment), who basically specializes in creating realistic masks of anamorphic creatures. I do not necessarily believe they know your IP, however, Jonathan does threaten the victim with basically the Blue Whale Challenge. On July 6th, Redditor LABoy12 also made a discussion post to /r/OutOfTheLoop, and Redditor thatcakester69 replied with the top answer (shown below).Īnswer: It is basically the Blue Whale Challenge but with an individual named Jonathan Galindo and is posting on many social media sites, though hearing discord is a first for me, he has appeared in random people's private messages in Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. The post received 274 upvotes and 159 comments. On July 6th, Redditor Thebigyoinker made a post to the /r/SomeOrdinaryGmrs subreddit under the title, “Jonathan Galindo, what we know so far.” The post discusses the reemergence of the Blue Whale Challenge and the anonymous users who attempt to recruit people to play the game. On July 3rd, Twitter user lavenderxio tweeted a video showing a conversation with one of these anonymous users, receiving over 1,800 likes, 356 comments and 334 retweets. On July 2nd, 2020, Twitter user itsVoxsis was one of the first to post about Jonathan Galindo in her tweet (seen below) that received over 72,500 retweets, 54,300 likes and 2,000 comments. Since this profile was created, numerous clone accounts have appeared across TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Discord and more, messaging users on these platforms and encouraging or threatening them to participate in the Blue Whale Challenge. The original Jonathan Galindo is unknown, but the account responsible for the latest resurgence comes from TikTok user jonathangalindo54, who registered the profile in the fall of 2019 (shown below). The images used in the profile pictures of these accounts originated from cosplayer and mask designer Samuel Canini, who uses the moniker Dusky Sam, and date back to at least 2012-2013 (seen below).
